This page is divided into sections which will give you helpful hints for using each page on our website.
GENERAL
Please enable cookies! The Materials Exchange website uses cookies and a username and password system to save you time during your visit and return visits. If your browser is set not to accept cookies, you will have to repeatedly enter your username and password as you navigate the site. Make sure your browser is accepting cookies for the most efficient use of this site. For further explanation of how we use cookies, see our Privacy page.

You can move around this website by using the navigation bar which is on the left side of each page. You can return to the page you were previously viewing by clicking the "back" button on your browser.
VIEW BY CATEGORY
This screen allows you to view all the materials listings in our database for a selected category. Click on the drop-down button on the "Category" box to select which categories/listings you would like to view.
SEARCH BY KEYWORD
The search feature allows you to use specific words to find listings for available or wanted materials.

You can enter data in as many or as few entry boxes as you would like. Entering words in more boxes will narrow the search. You can also enter more than one word in each box, (example: "steel barrels") or truncate a word (example: "alum" which would find "alum", "alumina", "aluminum", etc.).
DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT MATERIALS LISTINGS
This view gives detailed information for wanted or available material. If you are interested in the material listing you can contact the listing business directly. To do this, click the "Get contact information" button.

CONTACT INFORMATION REQUEST
In order to receive contact information from the businesses whose listing you are interested in, you must fill in your contact information. If you have already entered your contact information during a previous visit to our site, you may simply enter your username and password, and your contact information will be filled in for you automatically.

After entering your contact information, read the Terms and Conditions of Use and "sign" the page by entering you email address. Once you have done these steps, the company's contact information will appear on the screen.

CONFIDENTIAL LISTING
Some listing businesses have opted to make their listings confidential. If you are interested in the listing, and would like to make contact with the company, you can send your contact information to them. The company will receive an email with your contact information stating which material you are interested in, and they will be able to establish contact with you.

 

SUBMIT A LISTING
Use this screen to place a listing if you have a material that you would like to offer (place an Available Listing), or if you are searching for a particular material (place a Wanted Listing). Visitors of the website will be able to view the information you submit, and interested parties will be able to contact you directly to further discuss your listing.

If you have already entered your contact information during a previous visit to our site, you may simply enter your username and password, and your contact information will be filled in for you automatically.

Make sure to fill out all the sections of the Material Listing Information section that are marked with an asterisk (mandatory). If you prefer not to have your contact information given out to visitors of this site, you can opt to make your listing confidential. If you do, your contact information will be viewed only by Materials Exchange staff, and you will be notified of any parties interested in your listing by email.

After entering your contact and material information, read the Terms and Conditions of Use and "sign" the page by entering you email address. Materials Exchange staff will review and approve your listing, or send you an email requesting clarification of the information you entered.

 

EMAIL NOTICES
You can sign up to receive Email Notices of new listings posted to the Materials Exchange in a material category you have selected. Through this service, you will receive notices only for the materials you are interested in (see our Privacy page for more).

The Email Notices will include information about the newly listed material only. To receive contact information for a listing described in an email notice, you will be able to click on the hotlink in the email message to connect with the Materials Exchange website. You can change your selections at any time, either adding new categories or choosing to remove any of your current selections.
